I love sports. I believe that every child should develop a healthy appreciation for physical activity. I am a third-year teacher and I am new to the school system and the school. I currently serve approximately 700 students at two elementary schools. I am having the best year of my life! The students are thoughtful, considerate and sharing with the equipment. The problem is, there is very little equipment! I need hurdles and a CD/tape player for yoga and aerobics. I have finally found a group of youngsters who want to learn the fundamentals of physical education/sports and actually go home and practice their warm-ups so they will be correct for the next class meeting, and I do not have enough equipment. I never thought I would say this, but I would enjoy watching students play a rousing game of dodgeball just one more time.
