My Project

One of the hardest things about a teacher’s job is getting their students to remain motivated and interested. While it is best for a student to be intrinsically motivated, most teachers realize that extrinsic motivators can be key for fostering good behavior and engagement, completing tasks as well as building relationships and a positive classroom climate. All students like to know that the teacher and others have noticed their hard work, but unfortunately many times students are overlooked. I hope to be able to recognize all students for good things that I observe in the classroom, keep them motivated throughout the year and improve academic learning in the process. This reward system will help me achieve this goal.

This year I will reward students for positive behavior and academic achievements with a variety of rewards to help motivate all students.

Personal, social and academic stresses that today's students face are real and exhausting. Rewards can be a powerful way for students to feel appreciated, and noticed for their good behavior, hard work and to also keep motivated for success. Rewards such as stress relief and sensory fidgets, candy, snacks, and shoe charms as well as other non-tangible rewards that may include late homework passes, opportunity to change seats for the day will be given. To implement the reward system in my classroom, I will hand out tickets that students can trade in for rewards stored in storage bins at a predetermined time that will not disturb classroom learning.
