My students come to school eager to learn and graduate. They are amazing hands-on learners who love being able to put learning into practice! Always in motion, the students and I seek innovative ways to meet all of their needs.
I teach at a rural public school where 46% of the students receive free or reduced lunches.
Despite the challenges that they face, my students come to school hoping to tackle learning and make a better future for themselves.
My Project
I am requesting two standing desks for my hands-on learners as alternatives to traditional desks. Standing desks are a great way for these students to increase focus by allowing movement while learning. They will have the opportunity to use the swing bar, shift weight from foot to foot, and take small steps while engaging with the content.
These non-traditional learners need non-traditional seating!
My students need to have opportunities to access alternative seating in class since most of them are hands-on and in-motion learners. Most of us don't learn in a sedentary setting for very long. Let's get these kids the tools they need to succeed!
