Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love my job and I love my students. Not a day goes by that I am not smiling, laughing, and having a blast. Don't get me wrong, there are many sad and stressful parts of my job as a Title I third grade teacher. Many of my students have hard lives with many barriers, but nothing gets in their way or mine in making them lifetime learners.

Our "classroom" is the virtual until January and my 3rd and 4th graders need motivation and rewards for all of their hard work.

My students start their school day online at 8:00 and end at 2:15. Most of my student parent are at work during the day. I want to motivate and reward them for coming to class on time, staying one line, and complete the assignments.

Through love and understanding, a culture of acceptance, and a positive growth mindset, my students are on their way.

My Project

We are teaching and students are learning in a very different way this year. Some families are able to have an adult at home that is able to help the younger children navigate all the new technology and how to stay focused while at home. Unfortunately, in low income situations that is not always the case.

I want to praise the students that have been coming to school on time, participating in our live meetings, and completing the assignments with prizes.

Stuffed animal plushes that look like characters from our read a loud, Legos, and sports equipment will help them stay motivated.

I want to motivate then to keep doing their best. I also want to encourage the students that are not doing what is needed to be successful this year in distance learning.
