My Project

These items will be used to create our Mother's Day projects! Each year my students make 3 special items for their mom, grandma, or care-giver. The first is a handmade card saying "Have a Beau-TEA-ful Mother's Day". This card requires the doily for the paper teacup to sit on, a tea bag for the cup, and a silver-colored spoon to sit beside it. The second gift is a keychain with a picture of the student holding an "I love you" sign. The keychain is packaged in a small silver box on top of a bed of crinkle-cut paper. The last gift is a flower potted by the student and put in a cellophane bag.

By gift-giving, students learn to give graciously and take joy in other's happiness.

These three gifts are diverse and special. The card is a handmade gift with a special portrait of their mom. The keychain is a photograph that preserves the memory of the student at that age. The flower and pot is a store-bought gift from the child to their mom. These personalized gifts are small touches that go a long way in teaching young children about thoughtfulness. I want my students to have these experiences and I am happy to provide them.
