it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher, one of the most rewarding parts of my job is watching my students grow, not just academically but also as athletes. This year, I want to give them the recognition they deserve for their dedication to sports—whether they're the fastest on the track or the most spirited on the sidelines. Think of it as a "mini Olympics" right in our own school! By providing medals, trophies, and sports certificates, I hope to show them that hard work, teamwork, and perseverance truly pay off.
Beyond the fun of winning, awards help build self-confidence.
When students see that their efforts are noticed, it encourages them to keep trying, even if they fall short the first time. Sports teach valuable lessons like resilience, goal-setting, and the importance of teamwork. Recognizing these achievements allows my students to feel proud of their growth—not just their victories—which is an important mindset for both athletic and academic success.
The benefits of sports awards stretch beyond the sports field. By celebrating these achievements, we foster a positive environment where students are motivated to do their best, whether they're on the court or in the classroom. It boosts school morale, builds camaraderie, and teaches my students that success is a journey, not just a destination. Plus, it’s a great way for them to remember their hard work (and for me to brag about them to my colleagues)!
