My students are little learners who are very excited to be in school. Most of them have never been in a learning environment before. They have either been to daycare or stayed at home with a guardian. My school is a wonderful school where the teachers, principal, and staff love their community and school. These kiddos are very active and always on the move. It is a very fun age, but always asking "What's next?"! We are looking to add to the fun!
My Project
First thing in the morning, my students get out certain morning tubs while we are waiting for all of the students to arrive. While my students are doing morning tubs, I try to focus on talking a little bit with each student individually. We try to focus on math manipulatives in our morning tubs. My kids this year have been doing a wonderful job with their morning math tubs, but lately they have been getting bored with them.
We need new manipulatives to last my students all year long!
Our little hands need practice building and creating! These math manipulatives will allow my students to further their math education, while having fun! We need Peg Number boards to practice our number sense. Gear Builders, Star Builders, Soft Blocks, Geosticks, and Crystal Climbers will all allow my students to build and create using different mediums. With the Snap and Pop Beads, my students can make patterns and focus on their fine motor skills.
