Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love to use their hands to explore the world around them. They love to build and create and share their creations! They feel so proud when they create something on their own. Many kindergartners come to my class and have never attended pre-school or held a pencil, or cut paper or worked with another person. These morning tubs will help them follow our classroom routine, collaborate with others, learn about taking pride in their work and get focused for our day.
My Project
What five year old wants to come into a classroom first thing in the morning and do a boring worksheet? Not my kids! They need more to get them excited and engaged about our day of learning.
These activities will help get my kinders get focused first thing in the morning.
The letter mats with the play dough will help them learn letters and strengthen the muscles in their hands. And, lets face it, kids love to play with play dough. The activities will also keep them engaged so I am available to solve playground problems, talk with a parents, take attendance or help out a struggling student. By working with play dough, large tweezers, and rubbing plates student's fine motor skills, language skills, and math skills will improve.
If this project is funded it will help my students learn and follow a daily routine, become responsible and independent which will make our whole day run more smoothly.
