This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school has breakfast in the classroom in the mornings so my students come in, eat breakfast, and then get started with our day. There are times where students do not want to eat breakfast so I want to give them something to do during breakfast time with morning STEM bins.

The morning STEM bins will incorporate activities that will build upon fine gross motor skills, critical thinking and team building that are STEM oriented.

The bins will include items such a magnetic blocks, interlocking blocks, tweezers, geoboards, hole punches, and building blocks. The tweezers and hole punches will be used to build fine gross motor skills. Students will use the various different types of blocks to build items to match pictures. These materials will allow my students to build upon their skills during the morning when there's no direct instruction.
