Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Each day, I enjoy teaching my students with special needs students ranging from kindergarten to 2nd grade. It is rewarding to see their growth and love for learning. My students attend a Title I school in the inner city of Charleston, West Virginia. The majority of my students are from low-income families, and many of them are in foster homes. With your support, my students will be able to have a classroom rug as a meeting spot for learning.

Morning meeting time supports academic and social-emotional skills.

The classroom is an important learning center in the classroom. During morning meetings, our classroom rug will reinforce their alphabet knowledge, and math skills, help students establish boundaries in finding their own space, and assist with daily routines. This rug will provide a welcoming environment for current and future students.
