Morning Circle That Provides a Variety of Tactile Learning Opportunities!

My Project

This fall will be my second year teaching Preschool Special Education. Throughout my first year teaching preschool I learned how important morning circle and small group is for my students. Within morning circle we sing songs, check the weather, and have daily check-ins (asking them how they feel and why), while encouraging a language rich environment. During morning circle, I have created make-shift items, manipulatives, and visuals to provide my students with a variety of learning opportunities that encourage tactile learning (hands on learning). The items requested will be used to provide my students with visuals, structured activities/routines, and manipulatives during morning circle and small group, while providing my students with tactile learning opportunities (using their sense of touch). The difference these items will make within their learning includes, providing them with quality learning items that will be used daily, providing them with interactive visuals that are engaging, and providing all my students with hands on learning opportunities.

My goals for this project is to provide inclusive learning opportunities for all my students (verbal and non-verbal students) throughout morning circle.

As in many classrooms, my students needs varies. However, what makes them special is that regardless the day, they show up and give their 100% effort in morning circle and small group. They are always smiling and excited to use the manipulatives I've created. And I believe if we get the items requested, they will be beyond excited and eager to use our new morning manipulatives.
