The book bags proved to be an excellent acquisition. They help to keep each student's supplies organized and quickly accessible. Even better, it has eliminated students haggling over individual boards and made each student accountable for the care of assigned materials. In the past, many of the individual letter tiles were frequently misplaced and in some cases, lost. This year, that hasn't been an issue.\r\n We also appreciated the new classroom games. Candy Land, Shutts and Ladders and even the Lego pieces were all fun to play with. These games, along with other incentives like the glow sticks and pencils all help to provide much needed external motivation for many of the students. Personally, my favorite item was the magnetic banner borders. Instead of making multiple trips to get needed supplies, students were able to bring all of their supplies to the learning center in one trip. In addition, it allowed students to always have the supplies at their desk during independent work time. This enabled them to select the manipulative that worked best for their individual need.\r\n\r\nWhen I eventually shifted back to my position as an rti teacher, the book bags helped to keep supplies for multiple kids across multiple grade levels separate and organized.
