My Students
I love the students at my school because they are sponges that are waiting for the opportunity to be creative. They spend so much time in front of screens, but when given the chance to be creative they SOAR!
Our campus is filled with joy from students and teachers as we take on our daily challenges.
My Project
The products I have chosen would give students the opportunity to collaborate, create, and problem solve through games, art, and STEM activities during the first few minutes of the class day. Well known educator Adam Dovico taught about the idea of Morning Choice at the conference "Get Your Teach On." Immediately I was inspired. In his presentation, he shared how he taught at a school were students were often tardy and how the implementation of Morning Choice greatly reduced the number of students who were late.
Students were excited to come to school and made sure they came on time so that they would not miss out on the activities.
Students can choose artistic expression, work on problem solving and collaboration skills with legos or building materials, or work on critical thinking through games. I believe these materials, used during a morning choice time, will raise anticipation about coming to school and encourage students to make coming to school on time a priority.
