I teach a close-knit group and kind group of third graders! Each day, my students walk into our classroom full of life and ready to learn. They are truly what inspires me to be the best teacher that I can be! They are energetic, have a love of learning, and love to be creative! My students are always eager to challenge themselves and to learn new things!
When my students enter our classroom, they know they are loved and that they are safe.

My Project
Did you know that 65 percent of children entering elementary school today will end up working jobs that don’t even exist yet?
We need to prepare students for the future by fostering opportunities for them to think critically, solve problems, and work collaboratively.
The materials requested in this project will help to foster these skills in my students, preparing them for their futures!
The requested materials will be used for our "Morning Choice" time when my students arrive in the morning. Instead of completing a paper-pencil assignment, students will be able to select a material and get to work! My students will use the magnetic building blocks, LEGO blocks, marble runs, brain flakes, and straw constructors to work either independently or collaboratively with their peers. Using these materials, my students will be able to create, problem-solve, discuss their ideas, and think critically.
The magnetic building blocks, LEGO blocks, marble runs, brain flakes, and straw constructors will transform the morning routine in our classroom. Our "Morning Choice" time will be a time where students are talking together and sharing their ideas- a time that they look forward to. Not only will my students be gaining important skills, like problem-solving and critical thinking, they will also be starting their school day in a fun and positive way!
