I have 22 amazing kids in my classroom! As a third grade teacher, I have a big job, preparing my kids for all of the state requirements. I want the activities that I use in the classroom to be engaging and make the kids excited to be at school and ready to learn!
The kids in my classroom love to build, explore, and try new things!
I want to help foster that curiosity for learning every day in the classroom!
My Project
I had the opportunity to attend the Get Your Teach On Conference in Charlotte this year. At the conference, I had the privilege of hearing how Adam Dovico uses morning choice bins to get his kids excited about coming to school each day.
The morning choice bins will give my kids the opportunity to create, collaborate, and communicate with their classmates during the first thirty minutes of our day.
I chose the straw builders and brain flakes to give my kids the opportunity to work on critical thinking and problem solving skills. The board games to work on communication and building our classroom community. I want my kids to cheer on their classmates when they win a game and be ok with losing.
