This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is hands-on, and my students enjoying learning through play. I love the look on their faces when they are learning and having fun at the same time.

I teach second grade in small town in Indiana.

A lot of my students have some form of Spanish in their lives. My students are eager to learn and always happy when they get to try new things. They are very competitive with each other and love to challenge each other in their learning, whether it be how many books they have read in AR or what level they are on in math facts.

My Project

My students are in need of some morning bucket activities, including Magna-Tiles, Create -A-Chain reaction STEM kit, Magnetic Designer kit, Magnetic Fishing activity, Connect 4 and more. . Morning buckets are done when students come into the class in the morning. This is a time for students to interact with their peers and transition from home life to school life. I have a good number of students who need to work on their social skills.

Current research is showing that spontaneous play fosters healthy mental and social development and sets the stage for academic learning in the first place.

Morning buckets is only for a short period of time in the morning but, can help the whole day!
