This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Recess is an important part of the school day, but our outdoor space doesn’t have enough options for all students. Some students love sports and running around, while others prefer to relax, socialize, or play games with friends. Right now, there’s nowhere for students to sit comfortably on the grass, and limited equipment for both active and low-key play.

This project will provide waterproof picnic blankets for students to sit and relax even on damp winter days, volleyballs and soccer balls for those who enjoy active play, and giant games like Connect 4 and Jenga for students who want fun, social activities that aren’t sports.

By adding these items, we’ll make recess more inclusive, comfortable, and engaging for all students, giving everyone the chance to enjoy time outside in a way that suits them.
