My Project
We love this garden cultivator so much we had to get more to use in the garden! We also needed the supplies to build a new aquaponics system using the run off water from our tilapia fish tanks. We will use the hardware cloth, water pump and solar pond fountain to build a structure that will hold the net pots so we can grow leafy greens.
My students are so happy to be in school and able to get outside and get dirty in the garden.
This aquaponics system will increase the amount of produce we will be able to produce on the farm, and in turn increase the amount of food we will be able to eat, take home to our families, and share with the community. Learning to be kind to others and sharing with those that may not have as much is something I will be adding to the lessons my students will learn this year. Being able to build this system from the ground up and watch the plants grow and finally be able to harvest and eat it will bring my students full circle in this class and hopefully they will learn how to do it at home for their families as well.
