My Project
As a special education teacher, there’s nothing I love more than seeing my students succeed. I get just as excited about their reading progress as they do. Graphic novels are enjoyable for my students and it gives them the opportunity to have a visual experience of a traditional novel.
Many of my students are struggling readers and feel overwhelmed and frustrated by traditional novels that are hundreds of pages long.
The reading experience can be more than words on a page if my students have access to books that allow them to learn visually. They could practice their reading skills without fear or anxiety of not yet being the best reader they can be. These novels will give my students the support they deserve to grade level concepts and further develop their reading skills.
