it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"The more that you read, the more that you'll know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go!" - Dr. Seuss
Help my students achieve all of their goals by first helping them to learn to read and thrive as lifelong learners.
Twenty-six beautiful multilingual and multicultural students greet me each morning ready to learn, and every morning I feel blessed to do have the privilege to be their teacher.
Although, my students come from a high poverty neighborhood in a violent city, they also come with strong families and diverse cultural backgrounds and languages. With all of the diversity in my classroom, there is still a universal zest for life and love of learning. As a school, we have focused on literacy this year and my 26 students have made huge strides in reading, writing and English language development.
Most of my students came to fifth grade reading below grade level. With so many students reading below grade level and most being English language learners, literacy is truly of the highest priority. I am asking for the 3 reading and language games libraries so that I can continue to provide my students with engaging ways to practice all that they have learned so that they can continue to grow and blossom!
My Project
My students will use the reading games during literacy centers. During literacy centers, students are able to work with me in a small group setting so that I can meet the specific needs of my readers. As I meet with reading groups, the students are engaged in small group activities to practice the reading skills I've taught. The games that I am requesting will allow students a fun and engaging way to practice skills and learn new vocabulary words while working in a small group.
These reading games will surely help keep my students stay engaged as they practice and hone their literacy skills.
Your donation will truly be appreciated by my students. Thank you!
