My students need an iPad, two styluses and a case to increase math fluency and science investigations.
This project expired on July 30, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
A typical day in our classroom consists of 52 students exploring math and science with hands on activities. At the end of the school year, I want my students to be fluent in math skills.
Our class consists of 52 eager 2nd graders who are excited to come to school and see what we are going to be doing in class that day.
They are always excited to find a new way to explore and discover. Our school is a public school who services prekindergarten through 6th grade. Having the ability to add more technology in our classroom, students will be able to meet their individual needs in which they will have use of fun and engaging apps help them all reach their full potential.
Fulfilling this project will allow the use of the mini iPad to improve students' math fluency, accuracy, and comprehension. The iPad will be utilized by students during small group guided math, work-stations, and lessons across the curriculum to enhance student learning. Students will complete interactive educational games through teacher monitored applications and also have the ability to complete assignments on Khan Academy to reinforce teachings in the classroom. The interactive applications students are exposed to will be based on their academic needs and interests. The project will be implemented in order to motivate students to become more fluent in math skills.
Donation given towards our project will allow our classroom to add technology for student use.
With the use of the iPad mini, students will be able to have ownership to their own learning. They will have access to educational sites such as Khan Academy and ScootPad to reinforce skills needed.
