My Students
Vibrant, excited, noisy, and diligent describe the learners you'll meet when you walk through the door of Mrs. R.'s second-grade class. You may find a student working on a bright red chair, or wobbling on one of our cool wobble stools. Although, in our class student's work in whatever place they find the most comfortable, our expectation of high achievement for all is always the same. Our class is made up of a multi-ethnic population of learners with a zest for life and a love of learning. Our class population is made up of students who are English language learners as well as students receiving special education services.
My Project
We currently have a set of 16 iPads in our classroom. While the iPad technology is great and provides great resources for learning, many of the best apps for education are costly. With the games from the Osmo system, students will have an interactive way to practice things like money, addition, and subtraction skills through the Osmo Pizza Co. With Coding Awbie and Coding Jam students will be able to use problem-solving and critical thinking skills to code and create music. Osmo numbers will be great to help my student with subtraction with at times is a difficult skill. While also providing a challenge with its multiplication component. All of these resources will be a great addition to the technology which is present in our classroom.
