My students need developmentally appropriate chairs to help them sit independently, a dry erase board to help them learn to write, and a ball and walking rope for gym!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are ready to become lifelong learners!
My students are 3 and 4 years old and have a diagnosis of autism.
They each come to school every day with a smile on their face and a mind ready to learn! Our school is in a very diverse urban setting where most students come from low-income families and all students receive free breakfast and lunch. For many of my students, this classroom is their very first experience in a school setting.
My Project
We recently had several new additions to our classroom, bringing out total up to 9 students! We currently only have 6 of these wonderful chairs. This project will enable me to provide all of my students with the seating they need to remain engaged and focused during circle and small group instruction, as well as provide all of my students with the varied instruments they need to learn to write!
These chairs will aid me in teaching my students a variety of incredibly important preschool-level skills during circle time and small group instruction.
These chairs have two sides with varied heights, which means they will grow with my students and continue to fit their needs as they grow older! The other materials I am requesting will help my students learn to write the alphabet, numbers, their names, words etc!
