Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are located in an impoverished area in Philadelphia. They are inquisitive and eager to learn more things every day. This group of fifth graders are 10- and 11-years old.

Our school students have a unique experience because we have MicroSociety.

MicroSociety give students a chance to face real world situation through becoming entrepreneurs, consumers, and tax payers.

We rely on cooperative learning groups and differentiated learning styles to help all students achieve. My students are tech savvy and have a strong interest in Internet trends.

My Project

After receiving our stability balls I noticed an eagerness

to finish guided practice and move on to independent practice where my students are given a choice of using the balls in a first come first serve basis.

They are mindful to share and give one another a chance to use the balls. Students do stay on tasks longer and do are able to concentrate on their assignments. My class enjoys the stability balls so much, they are asking me to purchase more so that everyone can have a ball. Please help us reach our goal to purchase additional stability balls.
