This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Well, actually what this teacher needs is an additional monitor to enhance my professional learning and growth. Life long learning is a reality and a necessity to be the best teacher to best meet our students' learning needs. Sometimes we need technology to make this happen, whether to learn a new curricular program or about a District platform.
Having a second monitor when participating during online or virtual professional development would be helpful.
Often when we are asked to follow along, I minimize my ZOOM window and open another window to access another webpage or Google document to become familiar with the resources I need to learn. The problem is often I am not able to see and follow along because I need to be able to see both windows which requires more screen than my laptop can give me.
The requested LG monitor will not only allow provide me an additional screen, but will allow me to actually see the smaller print that often makes up the Slide presentation being shared as part of professional development. No more toggling back and forth, trying to make sure I haven't missed anything being demonstrated because my minimized ZOOM window is hidden behind the actual window where I am working along and learning on my laptop. In addition, having a second monitor will also allow me to access District created modules that teach me how to use Schoology, a learning platform that can enhance instruction and lesson delivery for my students, while following along on my laptop. This monitor's portability will allow for it to moved easily around my desk and classroom, giving me an opportunity to learn how to mirror District created curricular presentations I can use as part of my teaching while using my laptop.
