This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
One little camera = whole new world of learning resources!
My students come to school every day ready to learn.
They are excited, curious, and ambitious and are truly changing the inner city community in which they live. They are very attentive to teacher instruction, and thrive when technology and "live" learning of other students is taking place in front of them.
My Project
Simply stated, books are expensive. It is hard to expose my students to a lot of different resources without every student having a copy. With a document camera, I would be able to have one copy of the resource, while exposing all of my students to it.
Furthermore, a document camera will help my students learn from one another. It would provide my students with an opportunity to model and share their work with one another, just by sliding it under the camera. It will also help me to provide stronger direct instruction and guided practice. For example, we can revise one another writing together if we had a document camera--something that my kids, and myself, are very eager to be able to do!
My students will surely become more engaged, self-sufficient, and successful learners with this tool!
I know it will be used in a very effective way and this will be displayed in my students' growth in reading, writing, and social studies!
