Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 11 students in a moderate to severe Special Day Class with children with Autism. They are all very fun and enjoy technology. Most of them have some kind of sensory issue. They are at different learning levels but most of them can copy form the board. They are visual learners and require that we have examples for them when delivering lessons.

All of my students enjoy coming to school, learning and I enjoy watching them achieve their goals

My Project

My students love to read books or work on the iPads on the carpet. I think they will enjoy the carpet space better if they had something to sit on like the bean bag chairs. I also have some squirmy students that have some sensory issues. They will benefit from the bounce ball chairs. The chair will also help all the staff in the classroom control the students instead of having to constantly go get the bounce balls.

My students are all 4th /5th graders and a lot of them are beginning to write sentences, so I always find myself drawing lines on the white board because we are always trying to show them correct letter and word spacing.
