Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Special Education in Springfield, MA, where I teach a class around 13-15 students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. I teach in a school where 100% of our students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. My class also has a high percentage of ELL students.

My goal is that all of my students come to the classroom each day knowing they are safe and loved and have the materials necessary to give their best shot at learning, especially with our unknown future continuing as we struggle to teach and navigate through this pandemic.

My Project

My students love completing puzzles.

Right now, I have about 3 or 4 that I have either bought or had to print out from the internet and my students are asking me for more, as they have been doing the same ones over and over.

They love them because it helps them feel independent in their learning, which is a big thing because of how far behind they are this year based off the pandemic gap.

I would love more than anything to be able to give them more puzzles and see how excited they are about learning in a different way.
