My Students
In my classroom, I am greeted every morning by 25 energetic students who come in excited and ready to learn. They all come from diverse backgrounds and are able to contribute their individual skills in class.
Our classroom involves a lot of teamwork, collaboration, and moving!
My students love any opportunity they can get when they are working their peers. If you come into our room, we are always buzzing with conversation and ideas. We love moving around the room to make space for our work area and focus on our task. I would like to provide a more student centered classroom and give them the resources to help them become more independent and make their own choices to better their learning!
My Project
This convertible bench will be a perfect addition to our classroom. We started flexible seating this year and although my students are enjoying them, they need more options! We currently have different seating options but not a lot of different tables/places to work at.
My students move around throughout the day so it will be the perfect transitional piece from subject to subject.
Because we do a lot of collaborative learning, it will be a nice area for the students to use. Students can use this as a bench during reader's workshop and then convert it to a table so they can use it during centers, writing, book clubs... the uses are endless!
