My Project

Help me give my students a few more materials in our new music classroom! We are lucky to have a ton of instruments, but are lacking storage and materials. Luckily, our district funds most instrument purchases and repairs, but outside of instruments we are on our own. In this project there are some instruments to fill in our inventory, as well as some organization tools. Basically, we are filling in the gaps in the music room. It is only my first year teaching and I need some extra help, without taking it out of my paycheck.

Students this year are learning music with an Orff approach, but we are still setting things up.

Hopefully by this time next year we will be ready to learn full Orff! There are some helpful items like Beanie Babies to do full body movement activities, as well as some finger shoes to help us model entire-class folk dances and movement games. There are also several items (like glue guns, tool kits, etc.) to help us maintain and repair some of the materials and instruments we already have. Organizing an instrument refresh is not easy!

Finally, we have several board games and activities listed because I was assigned to run the board and card game club during school. Every Friday at the end of the day 14 students will come to me to learn all about strategy games! Almost all of these items are things that I would buy for the classroom, coming out of my personal paycheck. With your help, I can fund these items and create an even better music environment!
