Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In many urban communities, students are not supplied with the same tools and materials found in more affluent areas. My students are growing to be lifelong learners, and they are in need of resources to help them develop and strengthen their growing minds.
At our school, our students have learned that they have the power to "write the future" and success in writing is fostered by reading.
My students are growing as readers and need to build their fluency to access the written material across all content areas. They are in need of tools that will aid them in practicing reading and help them become successful learners.
My Project
All of first grade will love to continue the Magic Tree House series with book number 9 in order to help develop and foster their reading skills not only in the classroom, but at home as well.
Developing readers in first grade begins by fostering a love for books.
My students have spent the first part of the school year traveling with Jack and Annie from the Magic Tree House series and will love to continue to do it with their very own book.
We will be utilizing these books for a variety of things, including, enjoyment, comprehension, and vocabulary and grammar development. We can't wait to dive in!
