My Students

I teach many wonderful, energetic 4 and 5 year old students in rural south Mississippi. Our school is home to predominantly high poverty children with little enrichment and limited resources. Most students do not have the advantage of early childhood learning. Through this project, I want my students to learn and grow academically, as well as, see more of the world than they most likely would see. My students are always excited to learn and explore all the wonderful world around us!

My Project

Every kid loves building and creating with Legos! Having Legos in the Pre-K classroom will give my students more chances to discover the world of becoming an architect, engineer, scientist, mathematician, construction worker, builder, or any career that they dream up by creating with Legos. Due to Covid-19 and social distancing safety procedures, having more LEGO sets in my classroom will allow all my students the opportunity to build and create. Legos can be easily sanitized after each use to insure a safe classroom. LEGO sets can also be divided and sent home if the need arises for distance learning.
