Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am so excited to be teaching the second dual immersion class at our elementary school! I can't wait to see how far my students will grow in Spanish this year. I teach a wonderful class of 52 very inquisitive kindergarten students in a high poverty area.
One of my biggest challenges is having enough resources to help my students learn.
My little boys and girls are super excited about learning! A lot of them are just going to school for the first time. Our school is a Title I school where most students receive free or reduced price lunch. My students are very curious and excited to learn how to read and write in Spanish. This program is only on its second year, and our students are making incredible gains already.
My Project
These cubbies are a more efficient use of space in our small classroom as they accommodate more students and don't require boxes like our current cubby system. All students will have a unique and personalized mailbox to place their completed work in.
I currently have 10 students who don't have their own cubby.
Finding space for each student in a classroom with 24-26 students at a time creates a unique challenge. After all tradition classroom furniture was created with class sizes of 20 in mind. Help my students feel at home and a part of their classroom. Give them their own little space by donating to our project!
