This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every new school year, students return to the classroom excited to learn new skills. As they continue to grow, they require additional materials to help support the new lessons and skills that they are developing. Because my students return to the same classroom for several years before they move onto the next grade band, they deserve appropriate materials to facilitate their growth. The use of two-pocket poly folders will be durable to last through the entire school year ahead. The kid-friendly coat rack will be a perfect pair to the already donated backpack cart to continue facilitating their growing independence as they keep track of their personal items. Lastly, the magic boards will provide students with a low-tech opportunity to practice their fine motor skills during sensory time.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve our classroom routine and increase student independence, you will ultimately help to increase overall student performance throughout the school day.
Students will be able to have a more seamless arrival and dismissal routines this upcoming school year while using durable items. They will also have additional opportunities for choice-making and freedom of expression. All three items will provide students with motivation and independence that will best set them up for the school year ahead!
