My Students
My students do the most amazing things with the least amazing instruments. The instruments are old, some are broken, some even barely work. Yet, my kids perform level 3-5 music and attend festivals and parades. Even beyond that, they aid the local elementary schools with private tutoring and middle school prep. This band program truly is a family and these students make it what it is. They are truly amazing and deserve the help that you would be able to provide.
My Project
I recently requested some trash cans of various sizes and materials so we could create a "Stomp"-like percussion ensemble. We already received those items and have been practicing, which is amazing. The problem is that the group is already SUPER popular and we need more!! We are requesting more instruments and tuners for the growing program!
The garbage cans will make the percussion ensemble good, but we really need tuners so the band doesn't sound trashy!!
We have been doing a lot of ear training in class and I would like the students to start using tuners in for them to get more confidence when tuning and as a good check for their difficult parts and pitches.
