My Project

Students learn best when they are able to move around and choose where they will sit. With the referendum updates completed last year, three wobble stools were added to our classroom furniture use as well as a DonorsChoose project that added 4 more in additional to 4 bean bag chairs. The seven stools and four bean bag chairs were in high demand and we could use some more flexible seating.

The additional alternative seating will give students options in their seating as well as the freedom to move while they are learning.

Studies have shown that physical movement improves memory and long-term retention of lessons covered. Movement also keeps students engaged and focused. Flexible seating in the classroom can be used for small groups, independent reading/work time, or other similar activities.
