This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A NEW laptop would be beneficial for teaching so that I can lesson plan and use features that a newer laptop offers. My current laptop is old, freezes and restarts. A newer laptop will be more efficient for lesson planning for my special education students. It is difficult to plan in advance for students with severe disabilities because it depends on what we get through the previous day. As a special education teacher, it is important to differentiate lessons.
Having engaging lessons is my top priority for my students with special needs.
As we know, technology is a big part of today’s education. This project has been created to support my technology means as a teacher. It will also allow me to participate in online professional development and learning experiences in order for me to stay well-informed of the newest ideas and methods for special educators.
I would love a new laptop so that I can plan and create interactive differentiated lessons for all of my students. This year, all of my special education students have been diagnosed with autism. Their abilities are widespread. They need all lessons differentiated and scaffolded. With this laptop, I will be able to have the latest technology and tools to plan at work and at home to create efficient lesson plans for my students.
Writing IEP’s (Individualized Education Plans) takes up a large part of my time. A new laptop will enhance and ensure these legal documents are done more proficiently. Please donate to this project to help me obtain this laptop so that my students with disabilities can have access to better lesson plans, activities, materials and more!
