My Students
The vibration that our students are surrounded by needs to be lifted. Our young children overhear the news, parent conversations, media, and the list goes on. That is why creating a SAFE, exciting, analytical, innovative, tolerant classroom is my mission.
My students come from all over the world.
The level of diversity in my classroom is arguably one of the most diverse in the world. My students are Black, White, Korean, Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Mongolian, and the list goes on. I am eager to create safe and unifying experiences that can engage both their minds and social abilities. These children differ academically, economically, racially, linguistically, and culturally. We all have so much to learn from each other's differences and have to do our part to keep each other safe.
My Project
Having access to these books in my classroom will help bring social justice through stories to my students for years to come. There are a plethora of newly published books that show the representation of Black children as well as children from other cultures. The representation of Black people in literature is increasing and now we need your help to get these books into the classroom. It would truly be an asset to have access to these stories. Thank you for considering donating to the social justice literacy of my students.
