This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When you walk into my classroom, you will see my students working in pairs, in small groups and there is definitely a buzz. You will see students working on Chromebooks, iPad minis, and even personal smartphones. My students are used to using many different modalities to demonstrate their understanding. More than half of the students in our school come from low-income homes.
My students are a group of seventh and eighth graders who are English-language learners and Spanish-language learners.
They have been learning in both languages since kindergarten in our school, which is a K-8 grade school model.
My Project
All of my students deserve to have the materials they need to be constantly challenged readily at hand. In a world in which technology is so prominent, we need more resources!
We are in need of replacing three of the Chromebooks.
Having a complete classroom set of Chromebooks at hand will help with not only planned activities but also for incidental teaching and learning experiences.
Our district is encouraging us to go green. We are using many of the Google products, such as Google Classroom, Google Docs, etc. My students use many of the online tools to enhance their learning, remediate and enrich.
This project will make a difference in that our students will have an opportunity to work with technology exclusively in the classroom! School can be so much more engaging, and helpful when you are on a specialized program, geared to your strengths and weaknesses.
