Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It is important that literature used in school reflects the racially, culturally, and socially diverse backgrounds from which students come. Students need to feel safe and comfortable at school. Surrounding them with a library that reflects their families, homes, and backgrounds can help them feel accepted and appreciated.
This diverse library will help students see themselves in literature, as well as learn and respect the similarities and differences between all people.
The bins will help to house some of the books we already have in our classroom library.
This collection of brand-new books will help our class bond and come together as a classroom community.
