This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom library is in need of books from various themes. The students enjoy having a classroom library with a variation of books that includes books on their reading levels but also on some of their favorite topics such as habitats, fairy tales, nonfiction, and even insects.
I know that with the appropriate books in our library the students' interest and passion for reading will continue to increase this school year in second grade.

Literacy is the essence of all. When students leave the earlier grades reading on level research shows that they are more than likely not going to struggle through their remaining school years.
