This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have come from many different parts of the world including Ecuador, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and the United States. They come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. We work hard every day as scholars, artists, critical thinkers, and friends.
At our school, 96% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and 92% of the students are students of color.
The majority of my students are learning English as a second or third language.
These students have the capacity to achieve greatness.
My Project
We have an opportunity to go Moon Mouse, a unique theater experience featuring music, movement and larger-than-life electroluminescent characters that light up the stage! We will be watching Marvin the mouse in a cosmic adventure about celebrating differences. The story includes science, rockets, heroes, and bullies.
My students are amazing, creative artists, musicians, and thinkers at our performing arts school.
We will benefit so much from this show. This show directly addresses a reality our students face every day: bullying. This show will give us a new way to think about advocacy--through our own creativity. We are so excited to experience Moon Mouse. Thank you for considering our project.
