Welcome to our Montessori classroom. We are a K-8th grade Title 1 school in Fort Worth, Texas. Our students come from various neighborhoods throughout the city to be a part of this amazing learning community.
In our Montessori environment we foster independence, teach the whole child: academic, social and emotional, and create a caring learning community.
Our classroom is one where children are active seekers of knowledge and where peer to peer learning is cultivated. Our ultimate goal is to create life long learners!
In the Montessori classroom, we have 6 essential areas of the classroom: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Reading, Math and Culturals! Beautiful hands on materials engage the students to help foster observation, cooperation, coordination and independence. At this time our classroom library does not foster observation, cooperation, coordination or independence. The tile floor is cold and hard! Students do not find the reading area inviting or engaging. A new carpet will cover the cold tile and bean bag chairs will create a comfy space to sit and read. Therefore, donating to fund Montessori Reader Leaders will help create an inviting reading area for students to become life long reader leaders!
