My students need an iPad complete with Osmo accessories to bring learning to life. From math, coding skills, letter recognition and drawing, this technology will help prepare my students for the future.
My 14 pre-kindergarteners are enthusiastic, spirited, creative, eager young learners. Ours is a small, rural school that serves approximately 225 students districtwide. Many come from agricultural families. Over 75% of my students receive free or reduced lunches and many have never left southwest Oklahoma.
My students vary in ability from those who know a few letters to those are beginning to read words.
It is my hope to give my students, regardless of their level, the best start so they will be successful throughout their school career and beyond.
With recent budget cuts across the state, the money for new, updated technology is non-existent. Pre-K no longer has a full-time assistant, so this technology will be vital to supply real-time feedback to the students.
This technology will provide differentiated practice to my 14 pre-kindergarten students at a variety of levels.
The Osmo accessories will meet the needs of all students no matter their current level. The Coding Awbie Game will teach the coding fundamentals and problem solving skills needed for 21st century jobs. The Numbers Game "makes math intuitive and fun." Tangrams helps develop spatial sense. Masterpiece fosters drawing skills and dexterity. Newton is "Physics meets creative problem-solving."
