This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This is the second year my 4th and 5th graders have been able to fully explore modern band concepts in class and in a small pull out group setting. While we were successful getting this off the ground it was very hard for the students to hear each other well enough to always stay together. They had to rely on me to direct them.
Monitors will allow the drummers and singers better hear each other and in return help the students sound like one group rather then multiple performers.
In particular I want our modern band ensemble, self named the Firehawks, to be a truly student led ensemble that doesn't need me to stand in front of them.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
