This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a reading interventionist, all of the students I teach have significant reading delays. The majority of these students have some type of learning impairment that interferes with their ability to read on grade level. My class is also comprised of English language learners who either know a small amount of English or do not know any at all.
My Project
The new larger and visually clearer monitors will bring pictures to life for the students as well as help myself and my roommate (another reading interventionist) see our students and conduct virtual/online learning lessons. The reason why I chose the monitors is because they occupy a small space in relation to a Smart board and are more cost efficient to have. The monitors will be used to project from the laptop onto the monitor and students' will be able to view and have access to the specific learning content for the day. Online storytimes will make teacher read-aloud more engaging. Please consider funding our project. If funded, this project will continue to make our classroom successful for years to come even when we go back face-to-face in the classroom.
