My students are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are unique, bright, talented, and hopeful. They come to school every day ready for a fun-filled day of rigorous instruction. My kids are the best!! They are deep thinkers and have a growth mindset to persevere through any obstacle.
They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, firefighters, police officers, CEOs, and teachers.
They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful career.
Some students need intervention, others are in need of enrichment, but all need the tools to be successful! My hope is to give my students a classroom library with books at appropriate reading levels for all.
My Project
It's important to teach financial literacy at every opportunity, starting from a very young age. However, financial literacy or money management is not part of our standards we teach. By the time students get to high school, it's too late.
Students need to have good financial habits in place during their elementary school years.
I am requesting various novels and trade books that spotlight financial literacy, money management, or entrepreneurship. These novels will bring about discussions and real-world connections that can be made during our Reading Block. Integrating these skills during small-group discussions and book talks will allow for each skill to be learned in a new perspective.
