Now is the perfect time to teach students to be responsible with money. Six year olds want to learn about everything. My students are so excited to learn.
I teach in a county that qualifies for every child to receive free lunch.
It is so important that our students get a strong foundation in math that includes financial literacy. Right now my students are so excited about everything I teach them. I teach at a new school in our community and each student in my class is there because their parent wants a better education for them. Our leaders have committed to small class size to allow us to give more attention to each student. This is the most effective setting I have ever had the opportunity to teach.
My Project
We will use these items to read about money, learn to count by fives and tens, and to become smart about money. Kindergarten student learn best by touching and doing. I would like to let them play buying items with the money and sorting the coins. We have cash registers already and will use the coins to "buy" items in our store center.
This project will help our students learn about money through literature and play.
We need coins to teach the children to understand about money and other supplies to sport a good understanding of how our society functions with money.
