My Project

In April in honor of Money Smart Week, I do a deep dive with my students on the importance of financial literacy. We cover everything from the importance of saving your money, having a solid credit score and what it means, making good purchasing decisions, the FAFSA (needed for financing college), and entrepreneurship. I need to help prepare my students for the real world.

Having meaningful financial literacy conversations with students can help them learn the importance of savings, staying in school, going to college, career planning, and how each has a profound impact on their future financial success.

To help facilitate that, I selected financial literacy resources that will be highly beneficial for my students. It will also provide them additional methods to learn fractions, decimals, integers, and number lines. My objective is for my students to be financially literate consumers that know how to manage their money with confidence.
