This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our second grade class is ALWAYS busy with learning and creating experiences that build skills necessary for every day life.

I have the privilege of teaching an energetic and amazing group of second graders.

These boys and girls are always ready to learn with a smile on their face, despite the struggles and challenges many of them face daily. You see, our school is located in a high-poverty, crime-infested area in South Los Angeles.

My Project

With an iPad Air and case, I will be able to download grade-level and age- appropriate apps and ebooks that will aid in my students' understanding of how money works in the world. My students will also have the opportunity to explore websites on the Internet that build their financial literacy. From these experiences they will gain knowledge and skills that they can apply when handling money.

A device like the iPad Air and case will be a valuable resource to my students in developing their financial literacy, to understand how money works in the world.

The technological devices available in our classroom are often disabled or incompatible. Money matters! Therefore, with this priceless resource my students will no longer be deprived from obtaining simple skills necessary to successfully function in a money-driven society.
